Turkey's capital Istanbul, famously sits on both the Asian and European continents and draws historical and cultural inspiration from both regions. It was also known as the gateway to the Silk Road and the first stop for many European traders on their long journeys. Damascus rose often featured in perfumes and confectionaries which is one of the most famous Turkish delight. This cocktail uses a clarified mix of rose and cognac as base, with a wash of dairy milk providing an elegant creamy texture without any dairy solids. The taste is elegant, fragrant and invigorating.

Persia was situated at the center of the Silk Road between Asia and Europe. Travelers and merchants were travelling along the already ancient Royal Road of the ancient king Darius the Great. As a result of the constant flow of merchants and cultural exchanges, Persia adopted flavours and cuisines of those who travelled through it's lands. Persian pistachios were prized among the world's finest while turmeric and black lemon is still found in many Persian recipes.

The city of Venice in Italy was famous for being the hearts of commerce and spice trade, with many of the goods and produces of the Silk Road finding their way to this city to be traded throughout Europe. As such, Venice and it's merchants were among the richest of Europe, the wealthiest of who would elevate themselves to nobility through their financial gains. This drink celebrates an Italian classic, the ‘Spritz’; touches of spice and bay laurel blend with sparkling wine and a touch of salted pomelo to make a refreshing moreish cup.
